Did you grow up in Goderich?
I have always lived in the same house in Goderich, yes.
So you have a lot of childhood memories here?
Yes, there is one story where my brother and I got locked out of our house. He was 9, and I was 7, and my parents weren’t home for some reason. My brother freaked out and took a crowbar and started attacking the door with it. You can still see the marks.
Your pretty close to your family?
Yeah, pretty much. My brother is only two years older, so we played together a lot.
Do you have a big family?
Average. Two brothers, mom and dad.
Is your whole family musical or just yourself?
My mom is music teacher and my dad has taken singing lessons his whole life. My brother was forced to do piano until he was in grade eight (piano) then he could quit. My younger brother plays the clarinet, but he’s not very good. I play piano. My mom taught herself piano, and she plays a bunch of instruments.
When did you start playing piano?
When I was four in a half. I took lessons until last year, but I am more focused on my singing lately.
Does your dad teach you how to sing?
I take singing lessons, started to taking them when I was 9 or 10. I was in a choir when I was 8. I sing at random churches sometimes when they ask. I also sing at GDCI’s coffee house.
Have you always been involved in drama?
No, I just recently started being in the production this year. Last year, I was in the Boyfriend.
Do you enjoy drama?
I do. A great deal. Drama makes you an actualized person, your generally more self-confident person because you have to come out of your shell. Drama kids are awesome. There own kind of breed.
Do you think you’ll need drama later in your career?
Definitely, I will be in operas in University and it’s a good skill to have. When I’m in front of people, I have an advantage because I have performed whereas others haven’t.

In The Ghetto - Elvis Presley
To start this off I would just like to say that I am not a huge fan of Elvis Presley, It reminds me of the times when my grandparents got together with their sisters and brothers and they put in an Elvis CD to listen to while they played cards and drank beer, which was not very exciting to watch for me. Even though I do not love Elvis music I think this song is fantastic. To me this song is very deep and it touches on many present day problems around the world. Who knew that we would have the same problems they did way back when.
The basic story of this song is a baby boy is born into the ghetto. His mother is upset because she knows she won't be able to give this child a good life. Then as he grows up he buys a gun and steels a car, then ends up getting arrested. BUT wait, is that what this song is really about or is this only the simple story that is suggested? I think when the song says his momma cries when she finds out she is pregnant is because she knows she will be unable to afford to bring up her child but she also knows that he will never go anywhere in life, he will end up staying in the ghetto for the rest of his life, maybe he will get shot, maybe he will get put in jail, They never do talk about the little boys father, maybe the mother is worried that he might turn out like his father. Then it talks about how he plays in the streets and they teach him to steel and fight. This song is deep but this isn't even the deepest meaning that you can get in this song. In general the song is talking about poverty. The line, "I take a look at you and me are we just to blind to see do we simply turn our heads and look the other way". This is what we we do in real life, we don't recognize the fact that there are starving people out in the world that are in need of help. This song started off as a personal story but gradually changed into a world problem. The song In The Ghetto has a marvels meaning. I have never liked and Elvis song so much in my life. This song has more meaning than anyone will ever be able to pick up from only listening to it once or twice.
The hook at the beginning is a catchy little picking tune that is repeated throughout the whole song. Then there are horns, and pianos that make up several different layers in the song to add different textures, and emotions. Also i have found that this song is different than many other songs because the chores is played much quietly, this is to give the listener the effect of sadness from not only the music but also the lyrics. Then All the verses are louder to give the listener the effect of a harsh time or a horrible story that you get form the words.
When Elvis was growing up he lived in a working class family. The wasn't much money and he couldn't always get what he wanted. When Elvis was writing this song he probably thought back to his child hood days in the neighbourhood where he grew up and analyzed it and made a song about what he saw in his youth.

You Make the Rain Fall - Kevin Rudolf ft. Flo Rida
To start off saying this song has a good dancing beat, and it is easy to remember. The quick, up beat song puts you in a good mood. The beat paints a picture of you being in a club having a good time. The lyrics on the other hand tell a story of a person (a guy in this case) liking a girl that he is unable to get. Most people are able to relate to this at one point in their lives, it doesn't matter if you are male or female. The lyrics telling this story gives the listener something to connect to the song also making them want to listen to it.
While listening to this song you will realize that nothing in this song is real. What I mean by 'real' is it has not been altered to fit the song. Not many pop songs these days are the original sound, they are all refurbished with a synthesizer. From listening to the song several times and analyzing each bit I would say that there is around three music layers and two vocal layers. The first layer you hear is hard to describe, but i found it sounded like a space sound, which is clearly created using a synthesizer. The next part the comes into the song is Kevin Rudolf's vocals which are changed to be high and perfect. Third is the what I believe to be a guitar originally, but it has also been changed to be softer and to suit the song. The fourth layer that really stood out was the bass beat. This beat indicated to the listeners that this is a fast dance song, or a song to listen to in you car with you windows down pumping out the music, this is a clear beat that keeps the rhythm of the song. Lastly is Flo Rida's vocals, the sound like every other Flo Rida song but they are added to make people want to listen to the song because they know that Flo Rida produces good music. Also when you see the song title and you see the it is featuring Flo Rida it is a draw into the song.

He also has the classic t-shirt with the occasional hoodie, he tops off his look with the striagh brimmed baseball cap. This is the "in" look for guys, many boys have copied this look so this a way kevin connects to his audience, by sharing the same look. This look is also desired by most girls, by this I mean that many girls are "into" the guys with the popular look, who wants a guy with the pocket protector? So not only does the music sell the song but also the look of the artist

About Me
My Name is Jamie Gaudette
I currently attend GDCI and I am in my 5th year
I have lived in Goderich for 2 years
I loving playing guitar, and chilling with friends
and this summer I lifeguarded at the Cove
The thing I hate the most is having to pay so much for gas like what happened
to 2 cents a gallon (not in my time anyways)
I really wanted to go to collage this year but I changed my mind so I had to come
back to GDCI and pick up some more courses.
I hope to be going to Queen's in the fall of next year for teaching
I have two favorite sports that make my years go by with joy,
I have been playing baseball since I was five and have made myself play with the boy in a hard ball league
which was probably the best time of my life.
I also play rugby, I have been playing for four years not and this past summer I got asked to play on an
over 18 team which I couldn't because I was already signed up and payed for baseball.
I'm a pretty simple kid I have no problems that most teenagers have and i'm just living the life
